It’s time for another massive leap forward in the SlamSim! journey. I am pleased to announce the release of v1.0 Beta 3, focused on providing essential Data Safety Tools and critical Immersion features to make your booking universe feel truly alive. This update gives you the peace of mind that your hard work is secure, while ensuring your leagues—especially historical ones—read exactly as they should. Critical Feature: Data Safety and Tools For a booking sim, data is everything. This release introduces the essential safety net required for any serious league: • Introducing the Tools Menu: The new top-level 'Tools' menu provides immediate access to system-critical functions, separate from general Preferences. • Backup & Restore System: The new Tools menu features a robust system for data safety: • Backup: Allows the booker to download a single compressed file (.zip) of the entire data directory, ensuring all events, rosters, and preferences are saved. • Restore: Allows you to upload a backup file. The system implements a critical safety protocol: it renames the current data folder (e.g., to data_old...) before extracting the backup, ensuring your local work is protected during the process.
Enhanced Immersion and Control • Dynamic Game Date System: A massive quality-of-life feature for historical or time-shifted leagues. You can now toggle the application to use the date of your latest event/news instead of the real-world date. This means Ric Flair's title reign will correctly show "136 days" instead of "14,000+ days." All championship reigns are now calculated based on the custom game_date. • Champion Title Customization: You can now define the champion's name (e.g., "Womens Champion," "King of the Mountain") on the championship's editing page. This corrects roster bios from generic phrases to the proper, immersive title (e.g., "Current World Champion"). • Roster Visibility Control: Added a "Hide from Fan Mode Roster" toggle for wrestlers and tag teams, allowing you to hide dedicated tag team members who don't have a singles career from the public roster list.
Refinements from Beta 2 • AI Match Writer Logic Refined: Based on user feedback, a new rule was implemented for the AI Match Writer (introduced in Beta 2) to prevent the invention of new signature move names. The AI will now only use moves explicitly defined in a wrestler's dossier, preserving the authenticity of your characters. • Usability Improvements: Both Preferences and the new Tools menu have been elevated to the top-level application navigation bar, making essential settings instantly accessible.
Thank you for your continued support as we build towards v1.0! If you aren't already, please consider downloading and beta testing it for me! You can find it here.
